I had a cracked and worn-out leather steering wheel for my Mercedes Sprinter van. I used this kit to build up the worn leather and fill the cracks, This was after I spent a good half hour cleaning the leather before with IPA and a soft brush and microfiber cloth. I then rubbed the leather down with a 2000 wet and dry just lightly to remove any high spots of grain that had raised during the cleaning process. After mixing the black cream with the white filler, I filled and smoothed it out to match the unworn leather. Once I had let this dry and again cleaned any raised parts with the 2000wet and dried again, I then rubbed in three light coats of black cream, allowing a bit to dry about 5 hours between each coat and that is it! I did use a large needle to re put in the perforations in the top leather of the steering wheel. The wheel looks as good as new. The coating is soft and flexible just like the original leather. I am very very pleased with this product and I have no problem recommending it.

Floppy Toast
Its alright for hard surface imitation leather but soft surface like seats it is useless. It was very hard to apply the texture and just seemed to pull away the paste making little peaks rather than a leather texture. In the end I used a little wire to make a leather pattern, it came out okay but you can tell looking at it that its been repaired. It may be I applied it incorrectly but I did follow the instructions as closely as possible. I'm going to keep experimenting with it to see if I can get a better look from it.

I ordered this kit as a preemptive measure, knowing that my new car seat covers and floor protectors—now immaculate—won’t stay that way forever. It’s a smart set to have tucked away for when inevitable wear or scratches show up. Curious, I tried the leather colour restorer on my steering wheel, and I must say, it did a fantastic job. You’ll need to apply a few layers for an even result, but it’s worth the effort. A great little kit for touch-ups and quick fixes—definitely happy to have it in my car care arsenal.
